But we didn’t sit in a circle. We stood up and the fox/wolf would stand with his/her back to us & like the ealier comment we would ask how many eggs do you want today & he only called out that number of colors. It didn’t matter if 10 kids or 5 were playing. He could call out 5 or 3 colors. The fox’s choice. We loved this game & I am going to try and play it with my son’s Kindergarten class for our end of the year party.

I was born in February 1999 and was born in the United States, so why do I have this vaccine?? Nobody else had it in my class. I don’t even remember getting the shot. Same game, but different villain. Before he would guess the colors, the devil was told to “Go throw your pitchfork away, wash your face in mud, & say your ABCs backwards.” The “devil” would then pretend to do these things before returning and asking, “How many dozen eggs do you have today?” If 3 kids were playing who had secretly chosen colors, we’d answer “Three dozen”…(etc.) THEN the “devil” would start guessing colors, & the game would continue as described by the original poster above.

… I’m 43 now and ha ha it’s took all this time for me to find out exactly what it actually was. .. interesting!

The practice is usually to give it on your non-dominant arm. I believe they went back to vaccinating certain military members around 2002.

On a side note, currently there are Phase III clinical trials being conducted nationwide to test the immunogenicity and safety of three consecutive production lots of the IMVAMUNE smallpox vaccine in healthy individuals. Any healthy person between the ages of 18-40 who has never received the smallpox vaccination (such as the military) is eligible. Compensation is $575. Here’s an opportunity for those who never got the chance to receive the smallpox vaccination and have that coveted circular scar on their arm to not only get vaccinated but get paid as well.

Each BCG vaccination will usually leave a separate scar. Routine smallpox vaccination almost worldwide ceased in 1972,

My mother didn’t want me to have “The Scar” showing with dresses. This was in the late 60′s possibly in the early 70′s. I really don’t remember it but I remember getting the magic sugar cube, then having to bend over to check for scoliosis, when they diagnosed as me not having it, when later I had a 36% curvature. Ahh, those were the days! Lol.
